Sculpture Park and Outdoor Tendencies, SPOT, is an exhibition space dedicated to outdoor projects across various mediums from installations, sculptures, vinyls, among others.

Located 30 minutes from Porto, Portugal, in the beautiful gardens of a private residence, The SPOT can be visited by appointment only.

The sculpture park’s location and set-up are intended to encourage visitors to spend time with the artworks on view, away from some of the time pressures of contemporary urban life, evoking an atmosphere of contemplation and personal connection. This is emphasised by The SPOT’s garden setting, prompting dialogues between art and nature.

The SPOT offers an alternative to the typical white cube gallery model. By placing artworks against a living backdrop, collectors can get a sense of a piece in the context of a domestic garden environment. This allows a greater understanding of how the work interacts with its setting, as well as the effects of natural light, shade and weather.

Rather than focusing on monumental public works, the park primarily commissions pieces that work on a domestic scale, offering collectors viable pieces for any outdoor space regardless of size.
